South coast sport fishing is home to legendary tales of hour-long fights, reel-spooling runs and scale buckling catches. Teambuilding with a difference or a fun hospitality event. Finish the day with a private BBQ at Chewton Glen or the Haven cooking your own fish with a professional chef.

The Format
Your guests will have the opportunity to take to the water on board our luxury sport fishing boat and, with a plethora of species available and under expert guidance from our professional skipper and his crewman, have a dabble at catching bass, mackerel, blonde ray, conger eels, whiting, smooth hound, and even the occasional shark! As an additional challenge the guests will be able to check the lobster pots for their prize catch.

A well-timed lunch stop off at Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight can be incorporated (alternatively a hearty packed lunch can be taken on board) and will give the guests chance to swap stories of the morning whilst sampling a “fisherman’s lunch” at a local waterside restaurant. The boat returns to the Solent in the afternoon for more exciting fishing.

Charters can be tailored to your requirements. Trips can be extended to 12 – 14 hours or overnight multiple day charters including Cherbourg and Alderney.

Optional Finale
An exclusive finale to your day! Upon your return to the marina in Lymington, for the budding Rick Steins in the group, the BBQ will be lit and the local bar/bistro chef will be on hand to assist you in cooking your catch.

The Boat
Shogun is a spectacular custom built catamaran. Constructed entirely from aircraft grade aluminum she is 38ft long with a beam of 15ft, providing an incredibly stable platform. Shogun has a fully heated cabin, 2 heads (toilets), and the galley includes a microwave, oven, fridge hot and cold running water and even ice making facilities.

Built in 2004 she is powered by state of the art Cummins Quantum Series engines producing a top speed of 25 knots and a very respectable cruising speed around 18 knots. State of the art electronics from Raymarine and Furuno will not only put you over distant marks but provide peace of mind in any adverse conditions. The deck is a vast area that can accommodate 12 people in comfort. Shoguns spacious fly bridge provides ample seating for all guests and offers a spectacular viewing platform whichever charter you may choose.

The Solent
Still home to the British Naval Fleet, the Solent is steeped in history, and has a wide spectrum of features and landmarks, from the major ports of Portsmouth and Southampton, to the home of International Yacht Racing in Cowes and the beautiful fishing village of Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight. The protection from the open seas of The English Channel provided by the unique positioning of the island has naturally created a perfect haven for most species of fish and one of the safest and most picturesque stretches of water in Britain.
