The past few years have seen EMG diversify its product offering, expanding its land based and team building sectors, providing events abroad and working more closely with companies to support their recruitment needs.
To showcase EMG as it stands today and to demonstrate the quality of service that it provides, a Client Day was organised for July of this year. The special edition Cowes Superyacht Cup, for which EMG was selected as the official supplier, provided the perfect opportunity. Here's a glimpse into how the day panned out.
View from the Royal Lymington Yacht Club After the threat of high winds and torrential rain, the morning of EMG's Client Day dawned sunny and bright - superb weather for getting outdoors and taking in the views of the Solent. After an early start for most, guests were rewarded with a hearty breakfast at the historic Royal Lymington Yacht Club which is famed for its affiliation with Olympic Sailor, Ben Anslie and its patron, Princess Anne. With its rich history and newly refurbished terrace looking out over the Solent, EMG frequently recommends the club as a venue for breakfast and drinks receptions for water based events.
Following a short introduction to the team and its new products guests were escorted to their luxury powerboats. As with the majority of our hospitality days, on arrival at the boats guests enjoyed a glass or two of champagne while they were briefed on safety and the day ahead. With introductions and safety taken care of the powerboats departed for the Solent to find the Superyachts and see some racing.
Taking a spin behind the wheel - luxury powerboat The Cowes Superyacht Cup featured 11 stunning vessels, one of the largest fleets of superyachts ever seen in UK waters. Even moored these boats are a spectacular sight, but when racing at close quarters they are phenomenal. Due to light winds on the day, the superyachts raced a shortened course struggling in the challenging conditions to gain speed. With the racing commencing at a slower pace there was plenty of time for guests to take a turn behind the wheel of the powerboats before heading to their lunch venue - Solent based historic sea fortress, Spitbank Fort.
Spectacularly refurbished into a luxury exclusive venue and hotel, Spitbank Fort opened for business in April 2012 and offers guests the feeling of hiring their own private island. With function space for up to 60, the Fort features three bars, including a rooftop Laurent-Perrier champagne bar and wine cellar, a sauna and gym, private dining rooms and nine beautifully decorated suites. Once guests had enjoyed a tour of the Fort an Asian Fusion buffet lunch was served on roof top, where the 360 degree views of the Solent could be enjoyed.
After lunch it was back to the powerboats to enjoy some more of the Superyacht Cup, with some guests also choosing to take a high speed spin around the Solent on our hugely popular RIBs (Rigid Inflatable Boat). After an energetic Blast around the Solent, the windswept group returned to the Royal Lymington Yacht Club for a relaxing glass of champagne on the terrace and a light hearted raffle, with prizes kindly donated by some of EMG's partners.
All in all, a superb day was had by all and we would like to thank each of our clients who attended for donating their time to meet the EMG team and experience what EMG has to offer. Here is some of the feedback that we had from the day.
"Thank you for a wonderful day last week - you really spoilt us! It was one of , if not THE best supplier day out I've been on. The whole EMG team are so friendly and welcoming - I really hope to be able to work with you in the future.
What a FANTASTIC day..it was absolutely brilliant in every respect, it certainly had that 'wow' factor.
Thanks again so much for a wonderful day out that I'll never forget... I'm going to keep EMG very much in mind for our events in future."
